UN International Day of Peace 2025 (September 21) Expands to a Global Weekend To Pause the World for Peace Worldwide

International Peace Day Times Square Concert presented by OMMM

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, in the heart of Times Square, we will gather for a sacred public offering in honor of the United Nations International Day of Peace. This year’s gathering is both timely and symbolic, serving as the official kickoff to New York Climate Week and aligned with the opening of the UN General Assembly, when global attention turns toward the urgent work of healing our planet.

Presented by OMMM, the concert runs from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with the OMMM-curated segment opening the event from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Though this is only our third year curating the Peace Day celebration, the event itself marks its 23rd year in Times Square, and is part of our growing commitment to weaving sacred intention into some of the world’s most visible spaces. We have also produced two Earth Day concerts in Times Square, each elevating messages of regeneration, consciousness, and inner transformation through sound and presence.

In a world increasingly shaped by polarization, acceleration, and external noise, we believe the most radical act of change is to return inward. To remember that the quality of our inner state is the foundation for everything we create externally. That how we speak, lead, consume, connect, and care, all originate from the still point within. This year’s theme, Peace Starts Within, is a sacred reminder that outer peace cannot be legislated into existence. It must be cultivated, one breath, one body, one being at a time.

UN International Day of Peace 2025 (September 21) Expands to a Global Weekend To Pause the World for Peace Worldwide

This year, one day of peace simply isn’t enough, as declared unanimously by the UN, 193 Member Countries & Good News Corporation & Partners for the International Day of Peace Requests. As the world faces urgent calls for peace, connection, compassion, and climate consciousness, Peace Day 2025 unfolds across a global weekend of action and awareness, beginning Friday, September 19, 2025, in tandem with the UN International Day of Peace on Sunday September 21 and Climate Week NYC starting on September 22. McKinsey Co. states 2 Billion People are aware of Peace Day.

The weekend begins with a citywide meditation and Moment of Silence at Noon EST, hosted at NYC City Hall with Mayor Eric Adams, Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, and leadership across key departments — from youth, seniors, veterans, police, and education to community, and faith-based services, and for all NYC & Worldwide to join in. Together, we’ll pause in collective stillness and activate a wave of intention to ripple across the globe.

This year’s message is clear: Peace is not passive. It lives in our choices, our communities, and our care for one another and the Earth. All armies, cities, schools, organizations, and individuals around the world are invited to join in through serious and simple meaningful acts on September 21, 2025, at noon in your local 24 Hour Times Zone, as the International Day of Peace 193 Countries requests.
