The new title of the congress is the program for the industry as well as for the forum:
Digitization is currently the most important trend when it comes to the future of retail and shopping centers. A lot of experimentation has been carried out in recent years in order to reach mobile, digital customers and invite them to stay longer. The question of the basic requirements for a pleasant shopping experience was often left out. The digital innovations preferred by customers are often those that tend to take place in the background, for example in the transmission of information, in logistics and payment, or before and after the shopping center stay, for example through inspiration via social media in advance. Convenience through technology – this is exactly the aspect with which at least the younger buyers have so far been least satisfied.
The second aspect is the conversion of the existing retail space in Swiss retail. The revolution is currently being intensified by the Covid-19 pandemic and old structures are breaking apart – this gives additional space for new forms of use and, of course, a new mix of uses and offers in shopping centers and high street locations. What mix of uses can we expect in the future and who are the new stars in the industry?
